The 5th Argentina Youth Dream Presentation Festival

The 5th Argentina Youth Dream Presentation Festival, hosted by the Argentina branch of the My Dream International Foundation under the leadership of Chairman Chang Hyun Son, aimed at nurturing global future leaders, took place successfully on May 11th at the conference room of the Minjoo Pyeongtong Western Council, with distinguished guests from home and abroad in attendance.

Supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Argentina, the Korean Education Center, the Korean community, and the Minjoo Pyeongtong Western Council, the event provided a meaningful platform for youth who had passed through rigorous preliminaries at their respective schools to showcase their dreams and visions in the finals. It offered youth an opportunity to express their inner selves and communicate with adults, contributing to their growth and development.

The prestigious awards were as follows:

To Chairman Son Chang-hyun of My Dream International Foundation:

Hello.

I am the mother of Hwang Hyeon-seo, who won first place at the 5th Youth Dream Presentation Contest held in Argentina on May 11, 2024. Since immigrating to Argentina at the age of 11, I have always strived to create an environment where she can focus on her studies, despite our challenges. From helping my parents at the sewing machine after school, to assisting in organizing goods at the supermarket they managed, and aiding in sales at our retail store, Hyeon-seo has grown up alongside me. Her struggles with learning due to limited proficiency in Spanish have made her academic journey difficult. Witnessing her present her dream, inspired by my own childhood aspiration to become a teacher, has been deeply moving and touching.

Hyeon-seo was born and raised in Argentina, but she loves Korea dearly and enjoys Korean culture. She is actively involved in church activities, but somehow finds Spanish difficult. Perhaps because of this, she wants to attend university in Korea, but we have always been financially strained, which has been a constant concern. Last year and again this year, when she expressed her determination to participate in the contest, I was deeply grateful. Nowadays, teenagers in their adolescence sometimes don't listen to their parents well. However, after coming home from school, she always comes down to the small kindergarten I run, unpacks her bag, and lovingly helps out. I was so proud to see her diligently editing her writing and practicing hard for this competition. Winning first place in the Youth Dream Presentation Contest like this, and achieving such a good result, makes me incredibly thankful and happy. Our entire family congratulates and encourages Hyeon-seo, and we are enjoying a joyful week together.

Mr. Chairman Son Chang-hyun, I am deeply grateful to you for organizing such an inspiring competition every year, allowing countless young people to pursue their dreams. Last year, and again this year, witnessing the aspirations and resolutions of many students at the Dream Competition touched my heart and filled me with pride. Seeing our daughter participate and excel in this competition has been a blessing. From a young age, she has contemplated and planned her dreams, and I have faith that with her consistent dedication, preparation, and prayers, she will grow into a remarkable adult who, like you, can offer assistance where needed. My hope is that she and many other students can embrace grand visions and dreams. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you for providing opportunities through the My Dream International Foundation Scholarship Fund.
